Wet Tropics Environmment Centre (known as C4) on Porter Promenade, has a recording system where sightings of cassowaries are reported by visitors.
Excellent Barrier Reef fishing, or closer in around the islands and reefs. Try the estuaries for barramundi. Good fresh water fishing in the Tully River. Hire a dinghy or charter a game fishing boat.

Mission Beach
Mission Beach is made up of four villages. Bingil Bay, Mission Beach, Wongaling Beach and South Mission Beach are joined by 14km of palm-lined clean sandy beaches. Mission Beach is a tourist haunt and as such has plenty of eating options, activities and shopping opportunities!
Tully
Tully has all the essentials such as supermarkets, banks and a hospital. Play a game of golf at the country club, enjoy a tasty lunch at a sidewalk café or explore the markets in Butler Street on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.
Tully is world-famous for its white water rafting, and even spectators can enjoy this extreme sport.
Innisfail
This town is the doorway to the Atherton Tablelands and many fabulous walks and waterfalls.
